Job Description : 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Be responsible to the manager for following instructions and carrying out assigned duties.
2.Cooperate with other school nutrition personnel as directed by manager.
3.Perform functions of other nutritional service positions as requested by the manager (e.g. cashiering, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring adequate staff coverage within site nutritional services operations. 
4.Attend in-serving trainings, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions.
5.Prepare food items according to standardized recipes and established food preparation procedures (e.g. regular food items, deli sandwiches, baked goods, etc.) for the purpose of meeting mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements.
6.Evaluate prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature for the purpose of providing items that will be accepted by students and staff.
7.Serve the appropriate number of food items for the purpose of meeting mandated    nutritional requirements and/or requests of students and school personnel.
8.Develop a climate in the lunchroom that inspires pupils and faculty to want to have their meals there.
9.Report needed supplies and equipment malfunctions for the purpose of notifying the cafeteria manager of needed items and repair and/or replacement.
10. Maintain high standards of grooming and work habits
11. Be expected to physically perform the duties listed below:
    a) Must be able to perform tasks involving lifting (5-45 pounds), carrying, pushing, and pulling.
    b) Must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time.
    c) Must be able to work the assigned number of hours daily, five (5) days a  week.
    d) Must be able to stand on floors that are hard on the feet and may be slippery when wet.
    e) Must work in a congested area at times.
    f)  Must be able to stand extremes in temperature and humidity.
    g) Must practice satisfactory safety standards to avoid possibility of cuts, burns, or other injuries.
    h) Must transport food, before or after preparation and/or supplies from one area to another.

13. Shall perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the local school system.
