JOB DESCRIPTION: Behavior Specialist
CONTRACT TERMS: 190-day calendar
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SALARY RANGE: Social Circle City School District certified salary schedule

JOB SUMMARY:
To use teaching, leadership, coaching, supervisory and consulting skills established for the purpose of effecting positive behavioral change in students; providing supportive behavioral interventions and support to student at the primary and elementary schools; assisting and supporting building administrators with behavioral incidents during the school day, and complying with State and Federal regulations and procedures. Serves in the capacity of a substitute teacher in the absence of a classroom teacher or paraprofessional.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. The ability to
lift up to 30 pounds.
