JOB DESCRIPTION: Technology Support Coordinator

OVERALL PURPOSE:
The Technology Support Coordinator supports, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots technology hardware, software, and network systems across the district. This role ensures consistent and effective technology services for staff, students, and administrators. Responsibilities include technical support, inventory management, end-user training, and working collaboratively with district personnel to ensure technology meets operational and instructional goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License
- A college degree in a job-related area is preferred
- CompTIA A+ certification required or willing to obtain
- CompTIA Net+ or comparable certification preferred
- CompTIA Sec+ or comparable certification preferred
- Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing hardware and software in PC and Mac environments
- Familiarity with school-based technology support is preferred
- Experience with endpoint management, Active Directory, Google Admin Console, imaging, automation, scripting, and troubleshooting network systems
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Effective communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent organizational and documentation practices
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user devices, network hardware, and software systems across multiple locations
- Provide frontline IT support for staff and students, managing service requests and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
- Manage user accounts, group policies, and permissions in Active Directory and cloud platforms such as Google Workspace.
- Coordinate IT asset inventory and lifecycle management, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with IT staff and vendors on system upgrades, rollouts, and technical projects while ensuring adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
- Support onboarding and IT setup for new staff, including workstation configuration, access provisioning, and basic technology orientation
- Maintain and monitor endpoint protection systems, backups, and recovery processes in line with disaster recovery policies.
- Install and configure network operating systems, applications, and shared resources based on project specifications and organizational needs.
- Perform proactive diagnostics and troubleshooting of network components, servers, and telecommunication systems to maintain optimal performance.
- Track and resolve service tickets through a centralized help desk system, maintaining detailed logs, follow-ups, and resolution documentation
- Schedule and perform on-site installations, upgrades, and equipment relocations with minimal disruption to end users
- Conduct pre-deployment testing of software, hardware, and configurations to ensure compatibility and user readiness.
- Automate routine operational tasks and provision on-premises servers to support infrastructure scalability and performance.
- Maintain software compliance by monitoring usage against licensing agreements and ensuring version control across systems.
- Provide remote and on-site support for video conferencing platforms and MDM tools.
- Promote continuous improvement by analyzing recurring issues, documenting resolutions, and contributing to internal knowledge bases.
- Orders parts for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring the availability of technology as needed
- Process surplus technology following district guidelines
- Installs computer hardware, peripherals, and application software (adjusting, repairing, replacing parts, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining overall site operations
- Ability to learn new and advancing technologies quickly
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally, the job requires 50% sitting, 30% walking, and 20% standing.
EVALUATION:
The performance of this job will be evaluated at least annually by the Director of Technology, in accordance with the provisions of Board policies for employee evaluations.
