JOB SUMMARY:
Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for the district's Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs to ensure students are equipped with the academic, technical, and employability skills necessary for post-secondary education and workforce success. Ensure all CTAE programs comply with federal and state regulations while meeting the workforce needs of local business and industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Georgia Leadership Certificate or eligibility for leadership certification from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
- Master's degree or higher in Career, Technical, Agricultural Education, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful educational experience, including experience in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education preferred.
- Administrative or supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act and other applicable federal and state regulations.
- Strong organizational, communication, budgeting, and leadership skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, business partners, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate a comprehensive district-wide Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education program aligned with the Georgia Department of Education and the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and reporting requirements governing CTAE programs.
- Maintain current knowledge of legislation, regulations, and best practices impacting Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education.
- Coordinate the preparation, submission, implementation, and monitoring of all Perkins grant applications, budgets, improvement plans, and required state and federal reports.
- Identify, secure, and manage state and federal funding opportunities that enhance CTAE programming and student achievement.
- Prepare, administer, and monitor the CTAE departmental budget while ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with funding requirements.
- Supervise and support CTAE instructional personnel in accordance with district policies and procedures.
- Assist principals with recruiting, interviewing, selecting, mentoring, and retaining highly qualified CTAE teachers.
- Coordinate professional learning opportunities that strengthen instructional practices and improve student outcomes.
- Evaluate existing CTAE programs and recommend program improvements, additions, modifications, or discontinuation based on workforce trends, student interest, labor market data, and industry demand.
- Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to develop rigorous career pathways that prepare students for industry credentials, post-secondary education, apprenticeships, military service, and employment.
- Promote continuous curriculum improvement to ensure CTAE courses remain current, relevant, and aligned with industry standards.
- Establish and maintain advisory committees representing local business, industry, agriculture, labor organizations, and post-secondary institutions to support program development.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local employers, economic development agencies, workforce development organizations, and community stakeholders.
- Identify local and regional workforce needs and collaborate with stakeholders to align CTAE offerings with employment opportunities.
- Coordinate and oversee all district work-based learning programs, including internships, apprenticeships, youth apprenticeships, clinical experiences, and related career development opportunities.
- Support Career Development initiatives beginning in the elementary grades and continuing through middle and high school.
- Monitor CTAE student achievement data, industry credential attainment, pathway completion, and program effectiveness to support continuous improvement.
- Promote Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education through public presentations, community outreach, advisory meetings, publications, and district communications.
- Coordinate CTAE participation in student organizations, competitive events, and leadership development opportunities.
- Ensure CTAE facilities, laboratories, equipment, and instructional resources meet safety standards and support high-quality instruction.
- Collaborate with district departments to support strategic planning, school improvement initiatives, and workforce development goals.
- Maintain active membership and participation in professional organizations that support Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

- Knowledge of federal Perkins requirements and grant management procedures.
- Knowledge of workforce development, career pathways, industry certifications, and work-based learning.
- Ability to analyze data and use results to improve instructional programs.
- Strong leadership, organizational, fiscal management, and project management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to establish collaborative relationships with educators, students, parents, business leaders, and community organizations.
- Proficiency in educational technology, data management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
