Job Description : 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education Level:  Master’s degree in Educational Leadership
  2. Certification/License Required:  GA Educational Leadership – Tier II Certificate; or comparable certificate from out-of-state which must meet GA Professional Standards Commission requirements
  3. Experience:  At least 3 years of successful educational experience in an administrative position
  4. Physical Activities:  Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities
  5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:  Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, planning and leadership skills

REPORTS TO:  Superintendent

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance; communicate effectively and appropriately within the school and community; promote public relations and facilitates positive communications between the school and community; observe and evaluate the performance of employees; interview and recommend applicants for employment according to federal, state, and district policies and procedures; supervise student and staff conduct and monitors their progress toward achieving specified goals.
  2. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of curriculum, and evaluates the instructional program.
  3. Establish a positive school climate that includes high expectations, interactive teaching, clearly defined goals and objectives.
  4. Administer and improve the total school program in compliance with all procedures, standards, and regulations; allocate resources, supervise personnel, and coordinate schedules.
  5. Implement procedures to assure the safety and welfare of students and staff including traffic control and student transportation.
  6. Supervise the maintenance and operation of all school facilities and grounds; organize and manage meetings, conflicts, reports, and paperwork.
  7. Develop and maintain a system of on-going curriculum research, improvement evaluation, and long-range planning in the individual school.
  8. Develop a school budget, account for school funds, and administer all budget related matters according to established state and district regulations and guidelines; determine the validity and appropriateness of purchases; demonstrate consistently appropriate fiscal management of funds for which she/he is responsible in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  9. Perform other duties and services as indicated or as requested by the Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  230-day position.  Salary based on experience and Board approved salary schedule.

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent.
