Position: Maintenance Technician - Jeff Davis Board of Education Annex

Maintenance Technician

Primary Responsibilities of Position:

?    Perform basic maintenance tasks on school buses as well as a variety of other mechanical equipment. 

• Assist mechanic as needed
• Maintains and is accountable for all bus shop-owned tools and equipment.  
• Keep the shop area neat and clean.
• Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately  
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with engines and other mechanical equipment is preferred but not required
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to keep up with physical demands of the job
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in an automotive shop
• Position will require a Class B bus license. If the selected candidate does not currently have a Class B, the school district will provide all necessary training and costs for obtaining the license.
