Position: Bus Driver

Primary Responsibilities of Position:

Bus Driver Responsibilities:

• Obey all traffic laws
• Observe all mandatory regulations (local, state, and federal) for school buses and pupil transportation
• Maintain discipline when students are on bus, enforce system student discipline policies
• Keep assigned bus clean
• Keep to the assigned schedule
• Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure
• Discharges students only at authorized stops
• Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-system trips
• Transport only authorized students
• Report all accidents and complete require reports
• Adheres to all policies of the Board of Education and the transportation director

Bus Driver Qualifications:

• Valid license to drive a bus
• Pass an annual physical and drug/alcohol examination requirement
