Primary Function: Substitute Teachers are essential to ensuring that the classroom environment is conducive to learning and that learning continues to take place in the absence of the classroom teacher.
Minimum Qualifications:
After hire, all substitute teachers must complete a three-hour State-Mandated training session. *For information on Substitute Teacher Workshops offered by Central Savannah Regional Education Service Agency (RESA), please visit https://www.csraresa.net/substitute-trainings to register online. Applicants who have a valid (unexpired) teaching or paraprofessional certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission are not required to complete the three-hour State-Mandated training session.
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
Terms of Employment: Substitute teachers will be called in on an as needed basis. The possibility of becoming a long-term substitute if needed may be agreed upon and arranged at the request of the supervising school administrator.
