Position:  EIP Math Teacher                                                                              Location: Dooly County K-8 Academy
Accountable to: Principal                                                                                  Contract Status: Full-Time
 

Primary Function:
Under the principal's direction, the position's responsibilities fall directly under the principal’s authority. As a teacher, the math Interventionist is responsible for providing direct instruction to students.

The EIP Math teacher is also responsible for ensuring that mathematics is systematically followed as the company prescribes. The position also requires coaching, teaching, and facilitating students in best practices for math instruction.

Qualifications:
• Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate issued by the Professional Standards Commission.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Knowledge of the district’s curriculum.
• Knowledge of the needs of students requiring remedial and learning processes.
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives.
• Ability to utilize diagnostic data to inform the next steps of instruction.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, provide transcripts of conferred degrees and demonstrate in the employment history possession of one or more of the following:
• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
 • Instructional coaching experience.

Major Responsibilities and Key Duties:
• Provide direct instruction to students.
• Be at work regularly, predictably, and reliably.
• Use identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of GSE standards. • Collect, analyze, and present data regularly as specified by the principal.
• Model and coach research-based instructional strategies in a variety of settings.
• Provide ongoing training and follow-ups as prescribed by students’ data.
• Conduct ongoing classroom visits and provide immediate feedback to teachers and administrators on the school’s mathematics programs.
• Maintain a comprehensive inventory of instructional materials and resources.
• Assist in planning parental workshops and informational meetings.
• Participate in parent conferences and provide literacy suggestions.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.

Travel Requirements: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Equipment: Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copy and fax machines, and telephones.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year will follow the current schedule.

Evaluation: The performance of this job will be evaluated annually following the provisions of the Board’s policy on the Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Physical Demands: Performing the functions of this job may require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and some fine finger dexterity. The job may require occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Generally, the job requires sitting, walking, and standing.
