High School Graduate or GED 3. Completion of Buford System Substitute Training - Long-term Substitute Qualifications 1. Possession of a valid Georgia teaching certificate. 2. Possession of an expired teaching certificate, based upon a baccalaureate degree or higher. 3. Possession of a valid or expired out-of-state teaching certificate or a letter of eligibility for an out-of-state certificate. 4. Completion of a baccalaureate degree or higher. 5. Completion of at least one or more years of post secondary training beyond a high school diploma ranked in order of number of years completed. 6. Possession of a high school diploma. 7. Possession of a GED certificate.
Primary Function - The substitute will enable students to pursue their education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher. Responsibilities/Duties -Dresses professionally. - Reports to the principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school. - Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and the classroom to which they are assigned. - Teaches the lessons outlined and planned by the absent teacher. - Consults with appropriate administrator(s) or instructional personnel before changing any teaching or other procedure. - Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class. - Reports in writing any pertinent information on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
- Follows all policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates. - Ensures adherence to appropriate safety procedures. -Follows federal and state laws as well as Board of Education (BOE) policies. - Performs other duties as assigned.
