Contract Work Year: 180 days
Reports to: School Nutrition Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates aptitude for successful performances of the tasks listed. Should be able to read, write, follow directions and
instructions. Must be capable of lifting at least 30 pounds.
GOAL(S)
Provide excellent food service to students, staff and visitors in an efficient and courteous manner.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Prepare, cook, and serve food using recipes in accordance with accepted institutional procedures under the supervision
of the School Nutrition Manager
o Plan for the use of left-over food with the manager and assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods
o Use portion control to equally portion all foods
o Follow all safety regulations and procedures
o Know the procedures for operating large and small equipment
o Help to check in USDA commodities and purchased foods
o Perform major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and store rooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by
Nutrition Manager
o Assist in the daily clean up of the kitchen, serving area and utensils
o Keep serving counter replenished, neat and clean
o Participate in staff development, other school food service training and professional organizations
o Maintain required forms and records as assigned
o Practice procedures in food preparation, use and care of equipment, and personal habits to assure that health, sanitation,
and safety standards are met
o Follow work schedule and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner
o Perform other duties as assigned
